What's a good digital photography book?

I got a digital camera for Christmas and would like a good book on taking digital images. I don't know a lot about Aperture and f-stops and what the best settings are for different conditions. I've experimented indoors with manual settings and failed completely. I seem to only do half decent images indoors with the presets on the camera. I do plan to take a photography course when one is available locally but still would like a good book for reference. Any suggestions? Oh yeah, it should be a good introductory to intermediate book. Thanks.

A really good and inexpensive book ive found is Dorling Kindersley Guide to Photography. 352 pages of excellent information for just £7.99 - Not digital or film specific, covers both. Really good, Totally recommended, ISBN 9780751348699

I decided to go with these books for now:

    http://www.amazon.ca/exec/obidos/ASI...253536-7371260
    I ordered both books.

    and

    http://www.amazon.ca/exec/obidos/ASI...53536-7371260.

After these I will get more advanced books if I need them. But as they say, "practice makes perfect" (I think that's the saying).
