    Question What was the best Metal album of 2004?

    I would like to nominate Four candidates:

    (1) Damage Plan -> New Found Power
    (2) Probot -> Probot
    (3) Drowning Pool -> Desensitized
    (4) Godsmack -> The Other Side

    Who and what would you nominate? What it a phat year or skinny year? What did you like best and what did you hate?

    bit of a skinny year, it seems music is becoming saturated with bands like kings of leon and franz ferdinand which is a real shame
    i like to listen to good music, not just metal, but i hardly heard any good albums at all this year so i had to go back to like 1980s-90s and listen to some Dream Theater or Metallica

    the new U2 album was fairly good tho, not their best, but miles better than a lot of other 2004 albums

    most disappointing album of the year was contraband by velvet revolver. it wasnt bad, but i was expecting so much more from it

    is there love in space was a bit of a departure from Satrianis normal stuff and was a bit average as well

    it seems all music is going downhill, even the good stuff

    Ive been getting into more hardcore msuic lately and my friend jsut gave me a CD with some awesome bands on it. Lenore and Haste the Day. They have some awesome music.
    Some other bands with awesome sounds are As I Lay Dying, A Static Lullaby, From Autumn to Ashes, Throwdown, alexisonfire, Atreyu, Hopesfall, Killswitch Engage, Most Precious Blood, Meshuggah, Remembering Never, and Unearth.
    Those are all bands to check out if youre into hardcore/metal music.

    Astro creep is a pretty old album. Is this a re-release?

    The only album I got last year that was also actually released last year was Cannibal Corpse's The Wretched Spawn. It's darn good, but I still like their old stuff more (Tomb/Bleeding)
