    VTM 3, lesson 7

    ok i have the map drawing out but i have the setTile, or setBackroundTile for the '#' but it is using '☺', which i have never even seen before. what could be wrong?

    Are you simply doing this:

    cout << '#';

    Or are you doing something else?

    Try showing us your createBackgroundTile() and drawBackground() functions so we can see if there's anything wrong with them. Also, does your call to createBackgroundTile look something like this:

    Maybe it's a signed char instead of an unsigned char. Or not... the ascii code of # is 35. Write 35 instead of '#'.
