Google sued by nude photo website

    "
A California-based pornographer says it is suing the world's most popular search engine, Google, for easing illegal access to its website.

This is not a bad thing maybe... I have seen posts of people showing how it is possible to use google to show perosnal or buisness emails etc.....
and surley no matter what type of site you have you don't want a search engine to give away PASSWORDS! and your copyrighted pictures for free

Interesting to see if this gets anywhere

Google is simply displaying data from other web sites, surly it is the people who are displaying the pictures on their website who should be sued, not google.

It is not illegal to post a link or a preview to a publicly accessible site, and that is all google is doing!

    apparently not! That's the issue...

I think the guy is accusing Google to get pictures from the member only area and to post password info... not sure though if the password info comes from warez crackers site.....

    well uh...

actually... you both are kinda right... the guy should use a better security system to give access to his site... but at the same time, google's cache does take a lot of crap that it shouldn't especially images. A lot of times the image search function of google will bring up a lot of photos to sites that no longer exist. And technically they did get those by copying the images on to their own server... which technically would require a copyright, which they don't technically have by default under the terms of the law.... same thing can be said of any browser since it caches a copy of all copyrighted images on websites... so as suit happy as folks have been lately, it's only a matter of time before m$ gets sued for allowing image cache in i.e.... etc.

eh ehe...that's funny too... because all ISP do cache sites and files within their network to serve pages faster... this is why sometime you get an older version of a page...

so someone could sue all ISPs in the world for caching his/her copyrighted stuff...

    Funnny world we live in

People need to stop thinking their work is important or that anyone cares.

Everyone, please recommend maddox.xmission.com to anyone you see who says "i'm going to sue X for stupid thing Y"

Google is a search engine, if the moron doesn't secure his site, it's not google's fault.

I've omitted the name for obvious reasons.
(company name), which offers pictures of "the world's most beautiful natural women", says Google's web search gives users free usernames and passwords.
1st off, google itself does not give out usernames & passwords, it's engine may list sites offering illegal 'hacked' u/pwds, but we all know that these 'people' will always find ways around search bot restrictions.
Take spam for example, even the most advanced spamblockers will let some get by.
It says Google also shows stolen (company name) photos on other websites, enabling people to view without paying.
So sue those "other websites" you twit!
No bot can define between leagally owned content and stolen.
Sorry for the rant but Man do these people make me mad

    Why is he sueing google?
Simple, if a guy turns up dead, and it was a hired hit, the killer often dosn't end up with much of a sentance, however the client who hired him could in theory get the death penality.

If I were giving away illigal things on my site I wouldn't make it easy to contact me. So if you can't sue the website sue the messenger!

In google's defence; "don't shoot the messenger!"

The ironic thing is Google is very much against copyright infringement. Google will remove site listings in a heartbeat at the slightest chance of illegal activity. All the guy would have to do is contact Google and they would remove any link or listing he had a problem with. Chances are, he never even tried this approach and is simply trying to get a quick payoff. I think Google's ultra-conservative record will protect them from frivolous lawsuits like this.

    Not according to the article:

He said his company had sent nearly 30 formal requests to Google, asking it to remove the photos and password lists from its search results, but was dissatisfied with the company's response.
