    help with grouping in mel

    everytime i group an object its translate xy and z is always zero
    any suggestions???
    here is my code
    ------------------------------------------------------------

    //create toeik
    $location = `getAttr ("ballIK" + ".translate")`;
    group -n toeg toeIK;
    xform -ws -piv $location[0] $location[1] $location[2] toeg;

    It was indeed. Plus the compression was tight 4.19m and it was a 1mb file, cool.

    edit:// ostamo2, i get you want teh pivot of the group node to be at ballIK, but do you want the pivot's location to be actually in the channel box?

    ie ,

    group toeIK to itself

    of course the group node is all at zero

    but the pivot is at the other object and now is in ToeG tanslate x 5.6 y 4.3 z 6.7?


    Could you maybe create a group node all by its self, then plug in the location of ballIK inot its translate, and drag toeIK into it?

    Or will that reset again?
