    PHP SMTP

    Warning: mail(): SMTP server response: 503 This mail server requires authentication when attempting to send to a non-local e-mail address. Please check your mail client settings or contact your administrator to verify that the domain or address is defined for this server.
    I have been trauling google for hours, But haven't found anything on using SMTP authentication with PHP, has any one here any experiance with this before?

    Are you trying to use a username and password in yout SMTP settings? If so remove them and try it with out and see if it works.

    I like to use the PHPmailer class supports SMTP Authentication and few other nice features

    No i'm not

    as I understand it afer hours of reading, the new SMTP AUTH comand usese some for of MD5 challenge to autheticate users, before allowing them to send e-mail

    by looking into the phpmailer class I have found that you can authby sending the following param

    base64_encode($username)

    when usign a socket SMTP connection
