    Metal Slug ruulez!

    Hi all

I got my Hands on an old Arcade with Metal SLug 3 yesterday. Amazing! This was the best gaming experience i had in Years. It took me right back into the Gameinghalls where i wasted my coins as a child. Wow!

I believe its also available on MAME (Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator), but i dont know if MAME is legal. Anyway...Gamers don't forget your roots! You miss lots of great fun

Sounds like fun, but is there a place you can download MAME (if it's legal of course)?

I'd be guessing that mame is the same as any other emulator as in its not illegal to emulate another platform or have it on your computer but the roms are a different story.

actually its the other way around Roms are illegal and emulators are legal

you need to reverse engineer the orginial game to create the rom and thats considered pirating the software

emulators have been around as long as computers have

OR you could go the totally legal way and just BUY it. Yep, it was released for XBox earlier this year and it's chock full of goodies you won't find in the arcade version!
And just to reply to the first statement-YES Metal Slug does RULE!

yep I had the pleasure of playing Metal Slug once....pretty damn cool. I also remember wasting a serious amount of cash in the arcades. Maybe when I get a bigger house I will have room for such a machine. Would be pretty cool.

Metal Slug Series was made for Sega's Neo Geo Console System
and Neo Geo was modified for Classic Arcade Gaming.
So you could find a Neo Geo System and enjoy the original titles!
    Or...
If you already own the game (ROM) in cartidge or CD you can legally download and play it in the MAME emulator... where to find it is another story

actually that is not true unless the original copyright owner has given written authorization to have there product transfered to a different medium it is considered stealing and so illegal
