I don't think he'll be able to post it here before it gets officially announced by an avid/softimage-pressrelease. Your best chances to get informed about any new product asap - either free or commercial - is to check their website frequently and subscribe to the softimage newsletter.

That wouldn't be a very good path.

As said before - it's difficult for me to say because of legal issues. But.. given that we have done ones in the past means there is a greater chance we will do them in the future - but when.... that's a more tricky question. Keep watching Soft.com or 3D Buzz as when anything big breaks the word will spread quick enough.

Wonder if it's a flunky as version 4.0 in that if you unistalled after 30 days and re-installed you got the 30 days again. Not that i'm condoning that behaviour mind you. Just seems strange Softimage allowed that to happen.

The page I dowloaded the demo from had a link already setup you could click on once your demo ran out, maybe they will give you another term. Softimage looks to me that they are making it easy to try or buy thier product, I just ordered 4.0 advanced today (Educational) so I could take advantage of the DVDs and giving XSI a glance, I opted for the 1 year lic and with shipping it was $160US, less than the DVDs would of costs, A Ed version of Maya is $500, so I just use it at school (part time) an PLE at home. I've decided to learn both Maya and XSI at the same time.

I can't wait, I'll have to look over buzzs XSI material again.
