NMF Normal mapping plugin for maya6?

i have installed the ati normal mapper. it comes with an exporter for maya 5 which will not work with 6. Does anyone have a workaround or know of a maya 6 plugin

If I'm not entirely mistaken, it's built into Maya, normal mapping? So you might be able to import whatever you need to maya5, then saving it as ascii and loading it into maya6..

is that for the mac version though?

why is there no pc version?

I tried using melody and exporting out as oject format but it crashes when i try to import

i keep hearing that normal mapping is built in to maya 6 but i cant find it if it is.

maybe this PDF will help it says that normal mapping is part of the general polygon architecture

    EDIT:
finally after doing some heavy digging i found this:
Maya 6 now has its own normalMap creater.
It can produce normals in object and tangent space.

All you have to do is activate the plugin "TransferSurfaceInfo.mll".
This lets you use the transfer surface information tool that is under Lighting/Shading menu.

It is important to have a clean UV layout.

for more info do a search for "Transfer surface information" in maya 6 docs.
