    Unhappy Vehicle Problem

    I'm having this problem

    I'm exporting a Vehicle using MAX to Maya 6 This is what I did I set up the Bones for the Car Like make the 8 bones and root set the Rotation of the 8 bones to X=-90
    Then I named the Bones ::::::::::::::
    LeftFrontTIRE
    LeftRearTIRE
    RightFrontTIRE
    RightRearTIRE
    and The STRUTS
    Skin the Vehicle
    Set the Character Set
    But When I export the Vehicle I get This Problem in UnrealED
    The Bones Are in Different Positions and dirrections
    I don't Know What To Do
    I'm doing everything Right But every Time I do this I always get this problem

    ur exporting from max to maya?
    i dont think that is good.
    if this is what ur saying, try exporting either from maya or max----to unrealED

    umm just trying to be helpful here:

    in max which axis was up when you set up your bones and which axis do you have set for up in maya

    the reason i ask is in your screen shot it looks like its set to the wrong up axis and slightly twisted

    i think you might have probs in ued as wheeled vehicles only work when exported from maya, unless you have the specile code for max !

    I think that code change is now redundant as long as you are using one of the later patches of UT2004. You cannot get that code change from UDN unless you are an Engine licencee (which I am not) and I have exported vehicles from Max successfully.

    Unfortunately I don't have Max 6, only 5.1. I'm not sure how it will be affected by exporting it as a .3ds file but you could give it a try.
