    Photoshop 7 downloaded for $79.95 - legit?

I came across link removed while searching for a decent price on Photoshop. They claim link removed to be selling a download of Photoshop 7 for $79.95, which is a lot cheaper than I've seen PS 7 anywhere else.

Does this seem legit to you guys? Has anyone gone this route and bought the download from them? I'm curious but skeptical...

    From their FAQ:
All backup devices are for personal use and should only be used in a legal way.
... that makes me think it's one of those sites that "sell backup versions of the software" (AKA sell warez), so I'll say it doesn't look legit at all to me.

EDIT: Just one more nail in this site's credibility's coffin (from the services section):
Our products can not be registered with the software company however this will not effect the use of the program in any way. If you are needing some support, we recommend you buy some cheap tutorials off of sites such as ebay, they will usually run around $20.00

    It is definitly not legal!!

Search these forums for "is this legal" or somthing like that! These sites keep poping up and they are all remarkably similar.

I actually called one of these places. The guy told me that the software packages he sells are from bundles that come with other packages. He claims it is legit. The software is legal, has it's own serial number, just no manual. I have not called the software companies, however, to see what their stance is on this.

The disks are the actual disks from the companies, not copies (I cannot verify, as I have not actually bought a copy).

just my $.02 take it for what it's worth.

Why wouldn't you be able to register OEM software? I have registered software I got for free when buying new components (cdr, dvd-rom, video card etc). From what I've seen these places are using the loophole of fair use backups as an attempt to sell warez legally. When you think about it, why would anyone need to buy backups of software they already own? Wouldn't they burn their own backups? And since when do legit backups require keygens? It's all a scam. If you give these guys your credit card number, you deserve what you get.

Thing is, the credit card companies will re-emburse if a purchase like this goes wrong. It'll mess things up for the rest of us though if software companies try to stop this by ending the right of the consumer to make a copy for themself.

Credit card companies might re-emburse you... but also you have some people of dubious reputation that have your credit card number... not exactly something I'd like.... not to mention all the lost time and there's a big chance (I've seen it happen) where you might just lose the money at all...

I'm making a call on this one, and I'm going to say its warez. I'm going to close the thread now, and remove the link.
