    Carrara plugins available

There are export plugins for ASE and T3D file formats available at the following web site for Eovia's Carrara 3 and 4.

As of January 23, 2005 a PSK/PSA exporter is available for Carrara 4.

the psa exporter for blender has been put on a temporary hold, until the blender python api for armature animation gets better.

note: for blender armatures are bones.

You can use UPaint or Photoshop/PaintShopPro/Gimp/Other. For UPaint, there should be files included with the game that you can open in UPaint and paint over. For other paint programs, you can export the skin you want to change from UnrealEd and open it in the program of your choice and paint over it there.

Once cretaed, you need to import it into UnrealEd (choose a package like MyPlayerSkins). Then you need to create a .upl file usin the entry of the player you changed. Copy their entry from the xplayers.upl (may be calle dsomething else) and change the BodySkin and FaceSkin to point to your skins (the format is Package.Group.Texture).

I don't know of any tutorials on creating skins. There are some I am sure. I just don't know of them. Try searching these forums, the Atari forums, and Google. You are bound to find some help there. If not, I will be glad to help. A more detailed description of what you want to do (your painting skills and what program you are using) would make it easier to explain.

These forums may not be the flashiest, but they function just fine and that is good enough for me.

I could use a more detailed description on how to make a skin. I already tried google. Came up with 300,000 results but could find anything close to a tutorial.

Again, more information on what exactly you want to do would help. Are you looking for info on how to use UPaint to make a skin, or do you want to know how to take an existing skin into Photoshop/PSP/Gimp/etc. and alter it?

Here are some other threads about this subject:

Also, if you need more info than you can find in those threads, you might want to start a new thread and ask for help there. People with info may be missing this because it is buried in this thread.
