    Bored-ers

    Hey all,
    Hope this doesn't sound like a stupid question (Ah well, Applogize before hand if it does ;-) But I've made a website using tables to set the layout in Dreamweaver MX. However when I go to preview the site, there is a grey border around it, where I assume the layout table is. How can I go about getting rid of this? Its annoying as all get out. The first page I made using dreamweaver I used a template and it didn't do that.
    Any suggestions would be greatly apperciated.

    Check the table/td/tr tags to make sure that border="0" and bordercolor="#FFFFFF" (that's the right tag?)

    Err the tag seems right, but you'd want to replace #FFFFFF with the hex color you have as your background.

    Okay, tried that doesn't seem to work. It is grey in IE but you can't see the "border" in Netscape. Still its like the page isn't filling up the entire browser window. I'm not sure what is going on and its driving me nuts and the sad thing is I'm sure its something very simple that I'm just over looking. Ah well live and learn I suppose...
    Any other ideas?

    Check if there are any "width" attributes for tr and td tags. These may be preventing the full table width from being used. Or you can remove the width attribute from the table tag to cause it to size accordingly.

    Also check that cellspacing and cellpadding are set to 0. These attributes should be in the table tag.

    If you upload the HTML page in .zip or .rar format I'll be glad to have a look at it. See if I can fix your problem.

    I'll probably do that. The last few days have been hectic for me and I havn't been able to touch the site. (Being as I havn't been at home..)
    On the other hand, I saw x-men 2.. and I REALLY enjoyed it.
    ....although I'm really waiting for the matrix 2...
    ;-) I'll see if I can go through all the books I have and find the answer tomorrow, and if I havn't found it I'll up load the file. But thanks for the help before hand. The advice is really apperciated

    Hey all,
    My problem is fixed. Thanks for all your help.
    It ended up being a problem with the margins that were set. I went in and added this code:

    <style type="text/css">
    > <!--
    > body { margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;
    margin-left:
    > 0px}
    > -->
    > </style>

    I went into the macromedia forum. Go figure, who'd thunk I could get help there? ;-)
    Anyway thanks again for the help!
