Thanks. This machine that I am building is all custom built. Most of the design work was done by a friend of mine who is very good with this type of thing. We will be working on it some more tomorrow. Hopefully we will get a bunch more done. I want to order motors soon so we can make this beast move!

Well, we made more progress yesterday, new pieces cut out for the Y axis, but we have to recut one part. Then we can assemble the Y axis and I can take more pictures. Looks like in June we are going to work on it for a solid week, and hopefully that will see it finished and running!
More learning soon, we are going to be milling the roller bearings ourselves, so that means that I will be learning how to turn aluminum!

Just a quick update to show that things are still moving forward!
Here is the machine so far now with the Y-axis in place!
Today we are going to be looking at motors and I have to order Mach 4 software that will be the brains controlling the machine.

On a side note. My 3D Printer is once again running! It is all upgraded and is now busy printing parts for someone else so that they can build their printer.

Happy days! My 3D scanner showed up yesterday!

I got a Sense from Cube 3D, so far all I've managed to do is get the software installed. Tried to do a scan, but it looks like I need more light so I will have to set up my studio lights and do some tests. Really looking forward to seeing what can be done with this. I will make sure I post the progress on this in here as well.

Okay, that's way cool. I can't wait to see that. Also, scan my head.

That is one of the things that I am wanting the scanner for is scanning some of our customers, so that I can make them custom characters for gaming. I can put their heads on premade bodies so when playing D&D or whatever, they can have themself as their gaming character (mage, warrior, whatever). Since I will be able to print the character out on the 3d printer then one of our staff will do a custom paintjob on the piece, they will have a truly unique one of character. Should be very cool.
