I love mark rein trying to pretend like he doesn't know all this already, however good clips!
Ewww. I think I drooled. These clips were great and thanks to the links for the other, Game Informer, clips. I started mapping in the original Doom days. God, what a pain. Then in the Quake, Quake II and HL days it was better, but having to wait for hours in the lighting phase only to find out you messed a little up here or there, since there was no lighting preview.....I think I may have peed a little when he showed that the whole thing was rendered in the editor....I know we have had full lighting preview for years now, but it still makes me happy.
How many government super-computers does it take to run all those dynamic lights?
Also, watching him recompile the code while in the PIE made me cry.
A single GTX 680, which ok is still quite steep, but it's not as bad as 3 GTX 580s sli
