    ambient occ on texture, base not on mesh but texture

    hi the the real question is that i wana bake ambient occ but its obvious that u need high res mesh to bake that on to low res ver or u need mesh detail but what if u had a texture that had some cracks on bump base and u want those cracks u want the to appear in the ambient occ basically i want and ambient occ pass in maya that has that detail of bump and cracks

    You can use your bump map as displacement map to create the fine detail as geometry. Or use the lowres mesh and bake occlusion with it and multiply your bump map on top of that in photoshop for the fine bump detail.
