    iCube

    No, it's not a new apple product... (as far as I know)
    But it is a pretty nifty step in virtual reality/immersion technology. It's basically just a realtime environment projected onto 3 walls and a floor, with 3-D technology and headmotion tracking. It seems to work pretty well, judging by this guy's reactions

    That's pretty cool. It's odd though that they're projecting on to a cube and not a rounded surface.

    This looks to me like the CAVE - Virtual Reality research originating from 1992. Certainly cool, but not really new.

    MrCharisma - yeah I know.. nothing new in this. I'm just glad that SOMETHING is happening in the VR field, even though it's slow progress.

    Toasty - probably because it's just much easier to project images onto. Those lazy buggers.

    They need to killing the lighting or something in there, and have those walls themselves be emissve

    That is exactly how it works wforl - The walls are projected through from the rear. Well, except the floor, that is regular top down projection.

    I meant to kill the lighting from the rest of the room. So you can prevent the shadowing you can see in the video.
