Post (authorised) New 3ds Max / Mudbox training DVD - The Pariah from 3d-palace

Gosh - where to start? Well, for people who don't know, Im Cris from over at www.3d-palace.com - also a training site although one working parallel to rather than directly in competition with 3dbuzz.com, and Im posting here because Jason was nice enough to let me try and convince you to put your hands in your pockets to purchase the Pariah set.

Anyway, I shall get to the business of explaining more about what the Pariah is, why I think you would like it, who we are, what's in it for you and of course show you some cool things.

    What is The Pariah?

The Pariah is a workflow project for 3ds Max, including optional elements using ZBrush and/or Mudbox to create a biomechanical hybrid monster with two legs, two mechanical arms, two organic arms, 4 tentacles and two massive weapons. All limbs are rigged up and animated as are the tentacles using HI AND HD Inverse Kinematics.

Using the set you will learn the entire workflow with no cuts, no timelapses (except on a really long torso detailing piece for Mudbox which was originally 90 minutes and was sped up to 20) and everything fully narrated in traditional 3d-palace patios.

So, how about some previews? SURE. Heres twelve parts to keep you busy - thats about 5 or so hours of preview. In this set you are shown how to create the entire weapon mount system, create the weapon mount and then how to create the unfold animation for the weapon (which makes it look a whole lot cooler).

    Lots of URLS follow

More are being uploaded as previews for this set. Why are we showing so much of the set? Well this is only one small part - the entire set comes in at over 50 hours long, comes on two data DVDs and comes everything you need to create the massive walking monstrosity seen in the image above.

Amaze your friends, astound your tutor, confound your driving instructor. 3D-Palace Pariah Set. Available now from the 3d-palace DVD Store (along with various other things). Use the code OHMANDATSSOMEDISCOUNT and score a further 15% off anything at all in the shop. (we are terrible businesspeople)

I will now lurk somewhat and answer any questions people have. Also thanks again Jason for letting me post here!

    Very nice Cris.

Sorry I haven't been visiting the Palace lately. Seems like I will be adding this to my Christmas wish list.
I have figured out what the internet is. You know what they say about an infinite number of monkeys hitting keys at random on an infinite number of typewriters for an infinite amount of time? Well the internet is like that. There is some big cosmic alien running that experiment here in order to find the answer to some big question or to create the greatest piece of literature known to the universe. From what I have seen so far I am sorry to say they are going to be greatly disappointed.

Cris, This looks fantastic. Like Ben, this will be going on my wishlist.

    Thanks for the heads up!

Y'know, it'd be cool to have you Palace and Buzz guys get together and work on a training set. I'm a wishful thinker, though.

I think our methods would clash sadly - also I cant afford to get to the USA at the moment - apart from that it could be fun Although it would just be 40 ours of singing drunkenly.
