    exporter??

    do i need an exporter or a specific program in order to export models into unreal?

    If you go to http://udn.epicgames.com/pub/Content/WebHome/ you'll find info and downloads for ActorX for Max and Maya. This is a plug-in that allows you to export animated meshes to UT2003 format.

    A non-commercial version of Maya is included with UT2003. I don't think the Maya version of ActorX works with this restricted version... yet.
    This version of Maya is included so that people can create static meshes/map objects.

    You might want to check out Milkshape which supports UT skeletal animation and is sure to support UT2003 character modelling soon.
