That's true... BUT, it's better to do like I do and hang out at both here and cgtalk... The level of community and like minded folks seem to be about equivalent both here and there... but here...

do the chats go in to a log file, like trillian does? If so that'd be awesome... I'd imagine that logs like that would be very useful, especially if it's tutorial type stuff, or whatnot..

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS make backup copies of the software that you buy!!! Use clone cd or vitual drive or something similar to make an EXACT copy of the stuff.... I do this, and keep the cdr copies in...

Yep... probably not worth the cost to recover it... I've had similar happen to me before a few years ago... I learned my lesson, and now I try to make a backup cd or dvd at least once every two...
I'm no big expert on compression... maybe some programs you won't notice a difference... all that I know, as I posted above, is that I had to reformat once after I compressed the entire c:\ drive......
For webpages, I suspect that doing ntfs compression should work fine... it's the critical .exe files and system files that you DON'T want to compress... Just imagine what would happen if you...
