How Internet addiction leads to death. The Danger of Online Games
Internet addiction, dependence on online games Recently in the Internet cafe of the Chinese city of Guangzhou, a tragedy occurred. A young man whose name is not disclosed, died of exhaustion, after sitting for three days at the computer screen. After forgetting about food and rest, the 30-year-old Chinese played online computer games, until he lost consciousness. The doctors were powerless.
In order to somehow combat the Internet dependence of citizens, this year in China officially banned the opening of new Internet cafes, and in the already existing limited time that visitors can spend online games. China ranks second in the world after the United States in terms of the number of Internet users.
According to psychologists, the irresistible craving for online games today is in line with such pathological disorders as shoppingomania or kleptomania. As a rule, the Internet-dependent individual is the owner of any shortcomings or problems that hamper social contacts.
The most common of them: social phobia, appearance defects, excess weight, speech defects, sexual problems, difficulties in communication, and lack of self-esteem, with all of them related.
A person may lack the attention or approval of close, independent, self-confidence. The need for compensation or hypercompensation for these shortcomings pushes the individual into virtual reality, which provides a refuge from the reality of the present. The person ceases to live in the real world and begins to dream in reality. However, everything can end tragically - a lifeless body stretched out by the monitor.
