Anyone knows how i can preview my pixel/vertex shaders in a viewport of 3dsmax4/4.2 (not 5) to see my models with it ?

I believe he is talking about hardware shaders. You need to run Max in Direct X to see them and assign them through the materials editor. Unfortunately Max 4.x does not really do a good job with them. Max 5 supports them better using NVIDIA's CG in DX8.1. DX9 will be working soon as well hopefully.

You need to configure your paths so that they point to the "Hardware Shaders" folder.

I have found the vertex/pixel shaders support in version 4, but it is too poor, doesn't support .pso/.psh and .vso/vsh hardware shaders source code files, I will have make a plugin myself, or update to max5 :/
insurektion, these type of shading/rendering isn't which about I'm talking about, but thanks anyway |
