Adobe Jabs Apple Over Flash on the iPhone
Anyone with an iPhone knows there is no flash support on them. And now Adobe is apparently trying a new tactic to get Apple to pull its head out of its...ahem. If you visit the adobe flash updater page from an iPhone or iPod Touch, you get a message that could be considered snide and just a little sarcastic...which obviously means I like it a lot.
It is quite silly that the iPhone will soon be the only smartphone OS to not have flash support. Seriously Apple? If Windows Mobile can do it and you cannot, you may as well pack up your bags and go home. Sad, just sad. More info and a pic of the message: http://gizmodo.com/5395427/adobe-get...hone-flash-ban |

Seems like a perfectly polite message, to me... Mind you, I don't really use sarcasm, as you all know...

While this is rather comical and lighthearted, I really don't think Adobe of all companies should be complaining about someone else's business practices.

Well... to say that the iPhone doesn't have Flash is a little incorrect. It won't have Flash built-in to the web browser. You can make Flash apps for the iPhone though: http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/f...hone/#examples.

I'm not too sad about flash as most of it is junk... but it does suck when the website you want to use has flash.
Multi-tasking... all I got to say is that the Pre is starting to look more and more tempting. Unfortunately, it's made by Palm...

I would be looking at Android instead of Pre and the WebOS personally. Some of the new Android phones coming out are starting to look really nice. Check out the Motorola Droid Verizon is releasing in a few days as an example.
And that is my main problem with Apple's stance on not having flash support. instead of enabling a wealth of content that already exists, they want to force everyone to remake that content to fit within their little world. It egotistical and only serves to hurt their customers in my opinion. |

Blah... Android... that UI looks worse than Windows Mobile. No thanks. Google has yet to prove to me that they actually understand UX.

I don't know. I have plenty of experience with Windows Mobile and I wouldn't ever disrespect any other OS by comparing it to that. I know the first few Android releases weren't much to look at, but the 2.0 version looks like it has taken a huge step forward. I wouldn't write it off so easily, even if you are a flashy Apple-style UI whore.

HTC have done a fairly good job prettying up Android with their Sense UI. If the Hero had a QWERTY keyboard I would be all over it.
