Newly Discovered Hole On Moon Leads To Network Of Tubes

This was discovered a while back, and last Friday it finally made the news, but it seems that there is a rather large hole in the moon. They think it was created back when the moon still had volcanic activity on it. The reason this is significant, is if you think about the natural evolution of man. Our first homes were naturally formed caves, they offered protection from the elements, and made it easier to regulate temperatures for comfort. Well, scientists want to essentially do the same thing. If we can find a network of caves we can insulate, it'll be less work then building an entire complex and it will naturally shield us from the radiation, heat and cold of space.

Images have revealed a hole on the Moon's surface that is at least 260 feet deep and may lead to an underground tunnel more than 1,200 feet wide which is part of an entire network of such winding tubes.

Scientists are hoping for clearer shots from NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, but the impression so far is that such a tunnel network could provide shelter for astronauts or potential future Moon colonists. I just plain wonder if they could combine it with the recent discovery of water for one kickass underground waterpark.

Even the janitors must plot the exact course dust will take and wipe it out before it reaches anything important!

My Grandmother told me many years ago, "Mark my words, someday after I am dead and buried they are going to find there is life living under the moon" or soemthing very close to that. She was a big trekkie (origional StarTrek).

She actually passed away this past September...
