No more WoW in China?
Looks like the Chinese government can't figure out if they want to allow WoW to continue to operate within their borders. If it were up to me, WoW wouldn't operate within any borders anywhere, but for some reason Blizzard never consulted me before unleashing this disease on the world. I'll just let you guys read it for yourselves because I barely care enough to even post the story.

Considering that wow gold farming is like 68% of China's GDP, I don't really understand this.
(numbers totally made up) And seriously, people are still playing WoW? How is it that most of the people in this world have the attention span of a gnat but they can play wow for years without realizing that they're doing the same thing over and over again? |

I actually play wow, rather casually though. We are raiding top tier instances but, just as 10 man guild. We enjoy playing together with few friends and that's pretty much it. And to be honest, there isn't any better mmo game available at given moment so blizzard will receive my 13 eur per month for now.

I played wow too. I quit when I realized how stupid it was that I had to do the same dungeons over and over (I did stratholme 79 times to get my mage pants). It's an annoying grind. Plus a lot of my friends quit and that made it a solo game for me because I refused pugs.

I pug a lot, but then again I play on "premier" server (Kazzak-EU) and I tend to still be picky when pugging. And there as there is now coming these crossrealm dungeons (no not raids, just already boring and way too easy to do heroic and normal 5 men with previous tier emblems (huge mistake)) and I half assume that I am going to see a lot of fail coming from certain other realms in our battle group. But yeah, isn't most mmo's just grinding? There is always something. But yeah, blizzard actually loses a lot of money if they can't get this china conflict fixed. And as a not, there isn't that many gold farmers that comes from china, they are Koreans and from bit more poor European countries from where people farm gold for these companies to pay their subscription. And most of gold comes now from hacked accounts instead just because it's faster and easier. You don't need to know much about programming to be able to write keylogger, or hack website etc. etc.

Yep, read same thing and in most cases that's true. You don't really benefit that much form credit card number if it's not from someone bit more "rich" who has high credit limit on their card. Compared to wow account with several high level chars in their top tier gears (2 PvE + 1 PvP here) and often enough a lot of gold in it as well. If I do fast calculation for my account's value for gold seller it's along lines of ~2,5k euro. But and it's come down a lot form high peak. My value (based on ingame advertisement (SPAM) value) has come down from ~8k eur (TBC days). So compared to credit card that has limit of let's say 2500$ (or even if it's higher but not spend once) and gets caught rather fast, unlike hacked account from where you can transfer gold and other stuff in to "main sale account" and sell it off.

While the game may be repetitive in nature, i don't really think that much about that.
I don't really get why some get such a huge dislike against something like this when all it is, is a game after all. Either you like it and play or you don't and in which case you don't play but then you either got the right to say something because you are a part of it or you don't because you never got what it is about. Now i am not going to say that its about something specific, cause it isn't. Its about a multitude of things and pending on the person they prefer some aspects over the others. Personally, i like it because i meet nice people in there. True i can do that anywhere, but only in WoW are you really sure to meet people that you know like the same thing. You are guaranteed to have something in common. I also don't mind grinding the same dungeons time and time again because if i have a goal i want to reach it. It may not mean anything or have any purpose, but since when is having fun about having purpose. Lastly, i love the lore. Quite like lord of the rings, warcraft has a lore spanning literally thousands of years, elements of the game are based on myths but also on real life events if you know where to look. I have read perhaps the equivalent of lord of the rings abut warcraft lore and i am still amazed at this universe created from a bunch of creative minds whom i have great admiration. If there was anything i disliked about wow it would be that i miss the strategy offered in WCII and WCIII (i have never tried WCI sadly) but thats a more personal preference as i like strategy better than FP games. As far as china goes, well maybe that will bring down all those insane deaths over there and put a stop to everyone blaming WoW for the deaths from which people are themselves responsible. Same goes for addiction. I don't believe in addiction to WoW. i simply think its a matter of priorities. I played wow 2 years straight before i on my own took a break lasting over a year just to prove a point to someone who thought i was an addict. (can also say that said person never even noticed that i dropped it so thats attention to details for ya) i have since played it for a few months before again ending on the break i am on right now lasting well over a year.
