Apprentice Blog - Modeling a Soccer Ball

In this blog entry, you will learn how to model a soccer ball starting with a platonic solid's soccer ball topology. You will then round out and add detail to get the final model. The foreach surface operator is introduced to show you how to add the groove detail by polyextruding all of the patches on the ball individually while the foreach puts them back together.

In the words of The Fast Show's Jazz Club: "Niiice!"

Succinct, to the point and loads of info! The Ray sop for re-rounding the smoothed platonic is just cool.

Can't wait for more of these

See, you really have to have a creative mind to work in Houdini. This is a very basic tutorial yet very informative. I like it.... can't wait for more.
