What inspired you.......
I would like to know what inspired all you guys to get into your fields,be it animation, programming, or photograpy? What is it that drives you to put so much effort in getting better in your field.
For me, it was the work of one man. Ivo Caprino, a norwegian/italian animator, made the films that I loved when I was growing up.It was first and foremost the feature from 1975, Pinchcliffe Grand Prix (Flåklypa Grand Prix), that made me want to work with animation as a media. He also made short films of the folk tales collected by Asbjørsen & Moe (Norwegian equilant of the Grim brothers).
Starting in 1949, making his first animated movie (Tim & Tøffe),all of these films were created in the 50´s, 60´s and 70´s, but their quality makes them timeless. I can still watch Pinchcliffe Grand Prix and notice tiny details I´ve never seen before, like the moosehead hanging on the wall in one scene rolling his eyes.
Today, Caprino Studios is the only large animation studio in Norway. They have traditionally stuck to puppet and stop-motion animation, but in recent years they have started to expand into other areas. They have made a Pinchcliffe Grand Prix computer game, and have also gone into the area of motion capture.
Sadly, Ivo Carprino died in 2001, 80 years of age. He was one of the most influential persons for my generation here in Norway.
For more information about Caprino and Caprino Studios, check out http://www.caprino.no. Don´t worry. The site is in english.

This is my inspiration. What is yours?

In the 4th grade my class had a field trip to the local museum to see the Gates of Hell by Rodin. It blew my young mind. Also at that point, I always was getting in trouble for drawing in class but that is when I first saw the power of 3D.
That and my Commadore 64

I was motivated to program because i like math, and i am defintaly not good at graphics. I also love the computer so it just happened

MOD and 669!!!! For those of you who remember the old DOS BBS days these might sound familuar to you (Future Crew Rocked!!!). Funny how I got into computers because of music, but now I am a desktop technician who does graphics for fun
After that it was some random image done in 3DS (Yes the early DOS Version) that took me from comics to the wonderful world of 3D and I never looked back

Well I get inspired by so meny things in this field that I have no idea where to start, The main thing that keeps me going with 3d animation is the way successful animations could make you fill, so that means stuff like old disney movies, pixar and bluesky's movies and a few animations of animators I know

Star Wars, GI Joe, Jim Henson's workshop and eventually Reboot.

i like computers and i love games, so i guess that how it started but i can't say what i like more CG or games, it is hard to distinguish them from each other, one complements the other. The insperation that i had is that i wanted to create something of my own so i do want to learn how to create very nice images/animation and a good game.
i also like the cinematics in games, CG or real-time though i prefer real-time like in Metal Gear series on the other hand you have CG cinematics like in WarCraft3 or world of warcraft which is just a work of art

For me the first thing that made me think about starting 3d was when I saw a 3d escher tour which explained how the visual tricks that escher uses work.
The thing that really made it impossible to stop thinking about 3d as my 'future' was that one shot in The Fellowship of the Ring in the prologue. The large sweeping cameramove of the orcs storming into the line of elves, just brilliant cg animation. That shot really did it for me

I saw the film "The Minds Eye" when I was 7 around '92 or something...one of the first computer animated movies....Now Im getting a major in Digi Animation
