Horrible IMO, a level cap increase a few new areas, reskinned night elves, and a new lame class.
not much of an expansion, the majority of that stuff is stuff they could just add with their patches. MMOG expansions are su pposed to add more gameplay to the game not just more levels and new places to grind(although in WoW im sure it'll only take somebody 2 days to reach lvl 70 as their xp rate in that game is stupidly fast)
EQ2's desert of flame had more stuff then this and it was a pretty horrible expansion too, but atleast it added new elements of gameplay.

And a few areas? Maybe you should watch the trailer on the official site. Outlands, Caverns of time, Mt. Hyjal, Qael'thalas, not to mention they haven't given any specifics on exactly everything they are puttting into the expansion. Outlands is an entirely new continent witth brand new mobs, instances, and quests. Not to mention flying mounts in Outlands. Caverns of time opens up alot of possibilities for new content on Azeroth to experience in the past and maybe even the future.
There is very intertesting new profession that allows the creation of rings, neck pieces, trinkets, and gems for the new socketed items.
They havent even announced the new Alliance race yet.
So I just don't see how you can say its horrible.
I cant rember where but I rember reading somewhere about some leaked info about the expansion that talked about the new class, but it was leaked so it could be wrong.
and ven still, its not nearly enough stuff to warrant an expansions, the majority of it is still stuff they could simply add in a patch instead. and again they aren't adding anything new to gameplay except "Socket Items" which hardly counts. as new and orginal.
and because of WoW's poorly designed raids all the old raids are going to be trivialized by the level cap increase
and im not aying its horrible content to add, its horrible content to add in the form of an expansions, maybe a "mini-expansion" full blown "expansions" jsut warrant so much more content and gameplay additions then that.
if you goto the starting land for Night Elves you can ask around for info from the inhabitants about the Blood Elves already and i saw over on worldofwarcraft.net they have ingame stills
I am wondering about how they are going to do that. It would be too easy to get to 70 and go farm Onyxia, MC and BWL for gear to sell. Hopefully they raise the level requirements for those instances.Quote:

have you guys seen the trailer to the exp pack yet?

it seems that w/ it you can go back in time (atleast thats what i get from watching the trailer)
Apparently through the Caverns of Time you will be able to go back in time before the current events in the game. You will be able to go to Hillsbrad when Tarren Mill and the other town (forgot the name atm) were at peace.
There was some other places you will be able to go to, id have to find the article where I read it.
The new Mt Hyjal instance sounds like it will be awesome as well. Supposedly the end is an epic battle at the top of the mountain.
Edit: Heres the article

Isn't most EQ expanison sets just trying to get more content out by sacrificing stability? I also was told a while back that to have fun in the game, one must grind for a while before being able to attempt anything daring. I'm not complaining about EQ, I actually like it that they spit out lots of content but I didn't see anything that noticable.Quote:

EQ2's grind resulted in alot of quality raids ranging from easy to insanely hard, and a really epic and long well thought out epic quest with alot of backstory and raids, and grouping, and doing fun stuff with your guild.
So what im saying is
WoW's grind = decently fun grind, little pay off to just do a few raids and PvP the rest of the time
EQ1's grind = Large pay off with TONS of raids, AA points, epic weapon quests, many zones to do so in, FUN grinding
EQ2's grind = horrible with lack of good zones to do it in, but good pay off with many raids and a good quest.
EQ1 did so many things right that many MMOG's still fail to grasp and do, its just unfourtanate SOE bought verant out and put the game downhill with their money hunger.
