What follows is a response to a news item on this forum titled AOL Billing, A cautionary tale.
reminds me of a story in my past... back in the days before broadband, when 56k dialup was awesome, and I was old enough to afford things but still young enough to not think things through, I was enticed with a deal for $25/mth unlimited access (remember, that was dialup)... I phoned up and said "what's the catch?" and was informed that there was no catch, the deal was exactly...

In my previous entry, I mentioned that pixels must have mass, based on Einsteins theorys. Or, if you will, the law of relativity. Which brings up the question:
Are pixels a quantifiable entity?
Again, the simple answer is 'yes', although none of us would actually be willing to do the work.
A pixel is really an expression of light, caused by electronic impulses. In fact, 'pixel' in the singular term is slightly misleading, because pixels are a subdivision...

This isn't an entry that provides any answers. Instead, I will pose some questions that have occured to me, and wax lyrical about the possible implications of the answers. Which is another way of looking at how quantum physics works anyway.
Now, if you look at my heading, you'll notice the "part 1" up there. Well, don't make any calendar entries and have your insta-coffee machine set to whip up a brew 5 minutes before my next posting, because this isn't a regular thing....

... my nose, as it happens. I haven't been sick in at least 12 months, and I sort of forgot what it's like...
now, I'm not dying here, just a cold, although it's floored me somewhat... but as stated, I forgot how much it blows.... no amount of medication can keep the snot from building up (not that I'm one to take lots of drugs)...
what really sucks, though, is that today was supposed to be a nice and special day to spend with my girlfriend... we had a bottle of Moet...

I had some philosophical musings yesterday, and figure this is as good a place as any to share them. When more pop in my mind, I'll post more, but here are the starters:
Sound travels not as far, yet further than you think.
This works vaguely in the same fashion as the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle, with the added bonus that it requires a whole lot less quantum. In essence, if you are talking about things that you do not wish someone to hear, although they may be in earshot,...
