Converged

As none of you know from not reading my previous blog post, I just got a job at Mythic Entertainment (Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning) a few weeks ago. Although Mythic Entertainment is pretty close to my where I am living now (about 50 minutes on a perfect day), I decided it wouldn't be worth making the drive everyday with the price of gas nowadays. So, me and a couple of fellow employees decided to go ahead and rent a townhouse in Fairfax Virginia where Mythic is located.

Yup.. just got the call today! I will be a GM for Warhammer Online. It isn't exactly what I wanted to do right out of college but it an amazing start. Mythic is already an highly established company. With the upcoming release of Warhammer Online, I think it will push them into the big time. The recruiter told me that in the two years he has been there, he has seen more than 10 people get promoted into the development team from a customer support position, so that gives me high hopes. I can't wait...

I applied for a customer support representative position at EA Mythic about a month ago. I had a short phone interview yesterday with a hiring manager. He said that I would have a another phone interview with a customer support dude today before they made a decision if they wanted to have me to come down for a face-to-face interview.

Well, I just got a call today from the same hiring manager asking me to come down for a face-to-face interview next week. I never had that second phone...

Ah man, it is good to be out of the city. Nothing like some peace and quite. I have been home for a couple of weeks already now, but it wasn't until today that I finished setting up my room. I must say, moving is a daunting task. I couldn't imagine being one of those people who moves from place to place every couple of years.

Since the announcement of Dawn of War II, it has been atop of my most anticipated games list for the coming year. You would think I am a huge fan of the original Dawn of War or, at the very least, a Warhammer 40k fan. Well, I am neither. In fact, aside for playing a demo when it was first released, I have never played the original Dawn of War or any of the expansions.
