Got through the first revision pass in Chapter 3. there wasn't alot i edited in parts, so i'm sure another time i'll go over it. really want to get my revision pass moving so i can start querying this project by my birthday (i have 30 days roughly). In order to query confidently, i'll need to have the book in shape so that if i must send it out the next day i'll be ready, but there will still be things i change i'm sure.

No real work on either of my side projects today. stayed...

Well, didn't get a whole lot of progress on the revision of either the novel or my short story, but did get a breakthrough on another project.

Started doing the background work for this, it really just started falling together the more i thought about it, and i think that it will be much better than the things that have been put out there. seeings how i know few people read this blog, i'll not keep it a secret any longer.

AvP - The way it should have been.

well, got some solid feedback on my short story from one of my co-workers, and i revised it once more. also pushed forward in the revision of chapter 3. found myself just reading large sections with only having a few things that needed changed. i'll need to look at it again closer, but i think the pacing and broad picture is solid.

not much progress on other fronts, i've heard of a query critique contest by a literary agency. i'm thinking about brushing up my query and submitting...

Finished the revision of 'The Job'. It weighs in at 4,120 words, and i'm pretty pleased with it overall. It was really easy to draft, except for the ending, and was a great tool for revising. I'll post it on my other blog (and a link to it here) once i get it edited from my english major co-worker. She's not a fantasy fan, but wants to do editing professionally and is using me as practice, and she's taught me so much about how i write sentences naturally and the bad habits i need to watch for....

began drafting the prologue of the sequel. It's not in Tzal's perspective, and that is very strange for me at this point. i might have to write the sequel and then not write anything about Tzal for a while to break him from my writing voice.

Scales of Karat-Sizan is the working title of this novel. Base storyline is Tzal's war with the lords of the city, as he removes the agents of Axius who have subverted the nobles, and therefore the lords.

the prologue shows the...
