    disintegrating objects into dust

    I want to pull a disintegrate fx like the one in Blade Trinity

    Here is a tut for doing something like that but in Maya:

    What is the best way to disintegrate an object into dust in Max?

    there was a pretty good video tutorial at 3d-palace, but its not online anymore. i asked ol_blue already to upload it again. if it goes online again, i will drop you a line here...

    Use Particle Flow; You can make the particles spawn on the surface of an object of your choice and make that object invisible so only the particles will be seen.

    Then you can give the particles an age test where they are sent to the next event, where they are effected by a wind force.

    the word for this dispersion effect Alan Mckay made a good tutorial on his site do a search on google for Alan Mckay

    For whatever reason Allan McKay's website seems to be offline. You might want to try www.3dluvr.com for some of his earlier video tutorials.

    The 3DLUVR videos are/were all streaming only, so they shouldn't be availalbe.
