Blender 101 - club constraints
Anyone know exactly what the first two constraints for Location and Rotation are for?
-
The first two constraints on the club root set it to the club carry position. The next two set it to the club swing position (which is the pair you use a driver to control how it transitions between those two positions).
It's like this because Club root isn't parented to anything (or at least isn't in the class video), but it's being passed between two locations marked by ClubCarry and ClubSwing. Remember that the second pair of constraints are overwriting the first two.

darn - I thought he just forgot to parent it in the notes - maybe thats why my rig is crap

It really shouldn't be doing anything in particularly wrong if you have it parented and have it constrained. It's simply copying the values of the carry into the root, so no matter where or what the root is doing by itself, it is being overtaken by the carry anyway.

Its become greek to me --- I can't figure it out. Now I can't even get the Bend to work again... back to the drawing board.

Sorry for the double post; but WOO HOO, got it! Man alive was that a trick-- actually just a little understanding. Of course if I wasn't hard headed.
thanks Haledire
