I just put some new or refurbished UE3 material tutorials up for those who want to start preparing for UT3 already.

http://book.hourences.com/tutorialsue3mated.htm - Basic introduction to the material editor and some simple examples
    http://book.hourences.com/tutorialsue3mated2.htm - More basic examples
http://book.hourences.com/tutorialsue3mated3.htm - Slightly more complex examples.

http://book.hourences.com/tutorialsu...xpressions.htm - List of all available material expressions and their use
http://book.hourences.com/tutorialsue3water.htm - advanced material tutorial on how to create a large outdoor watersurface
http://book.hourences.com/tutorialsue3water2.htm - likewise, but this time on how to create a small indoor watersurface

Result from one of the tutorials : http://book.hourences.com/tutorialim...ter/final1.jpg

    Enjoy.

Edit: Holy shat, that adv water outdoor is crazy. I'm going to have fun with this when I get my hands on Unreal ed for UT3 =D

Question : How does one obtain UT3 Editor now?

I'm joining a team for making a mod for UT3 and it'd be nice if I could get UT3 editor to play with... =)

The closest thing on the market right now is Roboblitz which uses the UE3 engine. There are differences between the Roboblitz editor and what will ship with UT3, but it will still give you some basic practice with the new tools, layout, and pipeline.
